Laboratory Services

The Halifax Hospital Port Orange Laboratory is licensed by the state of Florida and accredited by the College of American Pathology and the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO). The laboratory director is a board certified pathologist. All technologists and technicians performing testing are nationally registered and licensed by the state of Florida.

The Laboratory will provide around-the-clock inpatient services within the disciplines of Chemistry, Coagulation, Hematology, Immunoassay, and Urinalysis and blood products will be available on site. In addition, the Laboratory provides specialized clinical and anatomical pathology services including Blood Bank, Microbiology, Parasitology, Serology and Endocrinology through an agreement with the Halifax Medical Center Laboratory in Daytona Beach.

Outpatient laboratory services will be provided in the new Halifax Outpatient Laboratory Port Orange facility located near the main Port Orange hospital campus. Walk-in outpatients at the hospital will be directed to the outpatient laboratory facility.
