Imaging Services
The Imaging Services department at Halifax Hospital Port Orange offers a complete menu of diagnostic modalities including CT, MRI, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, Special Procedures, and other Diagnostic Radiology. Board-certified radiologists with specialties in neuroradiology, interventional radiology, musculoskeletal radiology, chest radiology, magnetic resonance imaging, ultrasound and nuclear medicine provide their clinical expertise to the department. The technical staff are licensed and certified or registry eligible in their respective specialties. The hospital features a PACS system that stores digital images and provides instant image retrieval.
- Diagnostic Radiology is located on the first floor of the hospital and is open around the clock. Portable x-ray and fluoroscopic equipment are available to be taken to surgery, medical/surgical floors, and the intensive care unit to acquire the necessary diagnostic images.
- Vascular/Interventional Imaging also is located on the first floor.
- CT Scanning is performed with the latest in CT technology including multi-detector imaging and 3-D imaging. CT Scanning is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week and is located on the first floor of the hospital.
- MRI is performed with a state-of-the-art 1.5T scanner. Scan techniques range from routine MRI exams to the latest MR angiography scans.
- Nuclear Medicine studies are performed on the second floor of the hospital. Studies conducted in this area include bone, liver, lung, cardiac, and renal.
- Ultrasound studies also are performed on the second floor of the hospital and range from abdominal, and gynecologic to arterial and venous vascular including carotid artery evaluation.
