About Halifax Hospital Port Orange

Halifax Hospital Port Orange, the new 80-bed community hospital features a round-the-clock Emergency Department, four operating rooms and private patient rooms. Services offered include physical, occupational and speech therapy; imaging services like CT, MRI, nuclear medicine, diagnostic X-ray and ultrasound; laboratory services; same-day surgery; echocardiograms; pulmonary functions; and a Gastrointestinal Lab.

The Emergency Department is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with a total of 20 beds. Eight of the 20 beds are designated as "Fast Track" beds for patients with minor injuries and illnesses. Highly trained emergency physicians and nurses treat most emergencies on-site.

The Hospital offers the same skilled medical staff-both primary care and specialists- available at the main Halifax Medical Center campus. Most of Halifax Hospital Port Orange's nursing and ancillary staff will transfer from the main campus.

"Halifax Hospital Port Orange is a true community hospital and resource for residents of Port Orange and South Volusia County. It's a beautiful facility offering high-quality, compassionate care," says Ann Martorano, Halifax Hospital Port Orange administrator.

The services offered at Halifax Urgent Care in Port Orange have relocated back to the new hospital, becoming part of the new Emergency Department.
